Roast beef/Beef BBQ

 Method

  1. Pat dry your favourite joint of meat (Sri Lankan beef is tougher in nature and will require tenderising and goes well with beef chops).
  2. Rub down the meat with table salt.
  3. In a separate bowl, mix a tablespoon of the rub and the juice of one lemon or lime with a tablespoon of oil (coconut oil preferred)
  4. Massage the rub into the meat.  If you run out of rub you can remix to the same previous ratio with coconut oil and reapply generously.
  5. Bake in oven (or grill) at 170c for the required time depending on the joint of meat.
  6. Serve with whole roasted potatoes/Vegetables and/or yellow rice.

VARIATION – You may add 2 tablespoons of curd or Yoghurt to mix and marinate as well – this gives a buttery taste to the product.
